Founded by artist Robert Tirado, Knight Image Designs is an Figurative Effects (eFX) company that recreates iconic movie characters and monsters into art that can be enjoyed by all. Inspired by classic Hollywood films, blockbuster movies, old-school horror monsters, and comic book characters, Knight Image Designs recreates movie monsters and beloved characters into fine art for your home or office.

All Knight Image Designs are uniquely designed using plasteline modeling clay, and other materials. Some pieces use 3D-modeled and 3D-printed parts.

Designs typically start out with a maquette, or miniature, of the sculpture. Next, we use armature wire and plasteline modeling clay to create a skeleton, on which the clay will be sculpted over. After that, we mold it using silicone. Once the mold has dried, we can produce resin copies of the artwork using the mold.

Finally, all resin copies are carefully hand-painted with acrylic paint, bringing the finished design to life.

The length of time depends on the size of the design and the materials used. Some designs can be completed in a matter of weeks, while others can take several months to complete.
